  i cannot find the report feature on the forum or has it been removed?.

  in the past week or so poster jehovah lol appears to have re-posted as new his topic on jw talk.

  i have checked and the posts are identical - perhaps not a big deal, but it's a little like internal spam.

  Crazy statements from JWTalk

  i'm sure many of you are aware of the jwtalk site, a message board which has yet to succumb to apostasy (give it time).. some of the forums there are visible to the public, and i've seen some crazy stuff.

  here is a sampling:.

  The same happened to me a couple of weeks ago.

  The post -- new thread -- never went through the three processing steps. When I effected a page change, I received a warning that I would lose my post. Yet, some three or four identical posts showed over a period of days. Over a similar time period, other members have commented likewise regarding their posts.

  Regarding the typical relating of bad news before telling the good news (there is a solution!), I recall that when the 30-minute Sunday talk was initiated, we were told that the emphasis would be on the good news. A more positive message.

  I used to take notes on every talk, and there had been too much depressing negativity.

  Half banana:

  What a delightful trip down memory lane, or, the railways of your mind! Sharing such enlivens my own sense of wonder, taking me back to the days of my own childhood when the Sunshine Express took a meandering path through deeply forested glens. The destination? The sunny shores of the Pacific Coast. Sunny, once the fog had lifted and remaining traces were burned off by a gradually strengthening sun.

  Likewise, a friend had a description of the clickety-clack produced by the train: honey menoosh, honey menoosh, . . .

  Funny how we get different visual and aural impressions from like experiences.

  On a somewhat darker, reality-based note, John Updike observed, regarding fellow writer John Cheever's characters, that " his errant protagonists move, in their fragile suburban simulacra of paradise, from one island of momentary happiness to the imperiled next."

  Perhaps controversial as to its authentication; nevertheless, worth considering:

  "When faced with mounting opposition, Fred Franz eased the Society's position on blood regarding the following [bold added]: (1) Serum injections such as diphtheria toxin antitoxin and gamma globulin blood fractions were permitted. (2) There was no need to drain blood from fish (except when "a person sees an accumulation of blood"), only land animals. (3) While a Witness could not personally use fertilizer using blood, he could use it when employed by a non-witness. This and similar situations were made matters of conscience. (4) Over the years, the Watch Tower Society had taken the position of prohibiting the use of blood fractions in the treatment of hemophiliacs. But long before officially leaving this stringent position, if one were to call the headquarters they would be told that such treatment was permissible. Years later, in the June 15, 1978 WATCHTOWER, the "oracle" decided the pressure was getting too severe, so he withdrew his position altogether, and permitted both hemophiliac preparations Factor VIII and IX. How many hemophiliacs died in the interim, further sacrifices on the altar of man-made Watch Tower dogma?"

  I read the above (my first acquaintance with the very words that perfectly voice my long-held but otherwise unspoken inner sentiments) about an hour ago, in the magazine, PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, printed in U.S.A.

  It's not uncommon to hold onto a delightful but fleeting image for as long as possible, savoring it, rolling it around in our mind as its fading beauty seeps downward into our heart of hearts, awaiting some future trigger to pull it back up into our consciousness.

  Ah, beautiful, transitory images that fill our minds and hearts and -- upon that triggered retrieval process -- bring our wistful souls a measure of comfort during these drear days of autumnal bleakness . . .

  Is this, perhaps, a case of an angel from heaven (or elsewhere) declaring a good news other than that proffered in the New Testament?

  it is not “preach the good news” nor is it “believe in jesus and get saved” neither is it “believe in the governing body of jehovah’s witnesses and get saved” although in practice they do teach this.

  no, everything they claim depends on a belief in another doctrine which logic decrees cannot be found in the bible.

  the leadership of jehovah’s witnesses put absolute faith in a protestant doctrine which is given a latin name, sola scriptura, meaning “by scripture alone”.. good evidence of the governing body believing in the primacy of this doctrine was when being questioned by the australian royal commission, they resorted to the ‘authority’ of scripture to defend their stance on having “two witnesses” when they are investigating child abuse cases.throughout the hearing they paraded their naive trust in the bible as the highest possible authority proudly ignoring the fact that most people regard it as having been superseded by modern scientific evaluations of what is true.. .
